What is tendonitis?

Tendonitis refers to the inflammation or tearing of a tendon, which is a thick cord of tissue that attaches your muscles to your bones. Tendonitis often occurs due to sports or other labor-intensive activities and can manifest in many areas of the body. The following are the most common forms of tendonitis in athletes:

What causes tendonitis?

The most common cause of tendonitis is repetitive activities that cause strain on the tendon, commonly caused by sports or other activities:

Participating in certain sports can lead to tendonitis, usually when the player is using improper form or technique when performing certain movements. Sports that can cause tendonitis include:

What are the symptoms of tendonitis?
